RLPS was founded in 1954 as Haak and Kaufman in Myerstown, PA. The firm initially built its reputation on the design and construction of churches. These congregations called upon RLPS to design health care facilities for their aging parishioners. The resulting success and rewards from designing housing for the elderly evolved into a specialized practice in senior living with the national reputation enjoyed by RLPS today. Our experience with non-profit retirement communities and, beginning in the early ‘70s, public and private educational facilities, has resulted in our commitment to provide cost effective, innovative and meaningful environments that "quietly" support the programs and missions of the organizations we serve. This client-focus is also reflected in our diversified planning and design experience encompassing municipal facilities, office buildings, healthcare and private residence projects.
