FEBRUARY DESIGN INTERVENTION – Houses from the Heart

We all know that Saint Valentine’s Day focuses on the expression of love and affection, traditionally conveyed through gifts of flowers, confections and greeting cards.  For some, however, these predictable expressions have not been adequate to convey their true feelings. Little did ancient Roman philosopher Pliny the Elder realize that his words, “home is where the heart is,” would be taken so literally by so many romantics. Those six words set the stage for this month’s article which explores several fascinating homes that were built as an expression of love and affection for fiancées, brides and mistresses!
