Italian Ice: Gingerbread Display Results

Creative confections are always part of the holiday season at RLPS Architects, and this year’s Italian Island-themed holiday features a hillside monastery bordered by a collection of villas and a bustling plaza. Guests at our annual client party voted on their favorites and here are photos of the winning building and accessory entries.

Drawing from images of the Italian seacoast, employees, their families and friends spent hours transforming various edible materials into gracious villas, busy restaurants and unique shops. The candy structures are positioned along a rocky coastline formed with chunks of gingerbread, chocolate and rock candy and surrounded by a collection of fishing boats and sea creatures. And of course, no Italian holiday would be complete without a visit from the Pope. The raw building materials for these creations included 30 gallons of icing, 60 sheets of gingerbread, 15 pounds of pasta and more than 50 pounds of candy, crackers and cereals.
