Interior Fit-Out for Animal Emergency Hospitality

Mason Dixon Animal Emergency Hospital needed to convert an office space located in a strip mall into a warm and welcoming environment for personalized emergency care for pets.  This project required coordination with the development company and adjacent tenants for fit-out of a former office space into veterinary clinic exam rooms, surgery suite, waiting room, and other associated spaces.

Specialized Design to Accommodate Laboratory Spaces

The design fit-out needed to account for structural, HVAC and lighting requirements associated with the in-house laboratory and surgical suite.  A central med gas and scavenge system was piped to critical spaces throughout the hospital, including a special procedures exam room and the isolation ward. The laboratory is outfitted with x-ray, ultrasound, oxygen supplementation, and blood transfusion equipment.  The design also accommodates a pet pharmacy.

Melding Comfort and Calm with State-of-the-Art Care

To help diminish the stress associated with an emergency veterinary visit, a calming blue color palette was selected for the interior finishes throughout.  Durable, easy maintenance materials and furnishings were prioritized for this interior-fit-out project. Industrial materials, resistant to animal wear and tear, were used in treatment areas. The comfort room takes advantage of corner windows and features softer seating.
