Dallastown Area School District: York Township Elementary School Additions and Renovations

The additions and renovations to York Township Elementary School will provide comprehensive renovations to the existing 80,200 square foot building. Approximately 2,800 square feet of the existing building will be demolished to make way for a 13,240 sf addition. This addition will include classrooms, offices, a cafeteria and storage.
General Construction (inc. site): $14,425,000
HVAC Construction: $4,370,000
Electrical Construction: $4,195,000
Plumbing/Fire Protection: $2,050,000
While some site work relating to the front driveways, parking, and bus drop-off have been completed as part of an earlier phase which concluded in August 2025, the remainder of the site will see re-paving and reconfiguring to accommodate the new addition. Site work also includes demolition and a full renovation of the existing building courtyard.
While contracts & notice to proceed are anticipated in October/November of 2025, pre-construction extends until March 1, 2026. That is the date when contractors will be able to mobilize on site. Demolition and construction commences at the end of the current academic year (June 2026) and continues through three primary phases until May 1, 2028. It is the District’s goal to give the Prime contractors the opportunity to produce shop drawings and secure long lead equipment in order to be prepared when the site will be available for commencement of construction activity. This timeline and phasing are further defined in the project specifications and bidding document set once available.
