These new casual venues expand the family-owned fine dining venue into a more flexible, all-day destination designed for casual dining, social gatherings, and culinary experiences.

The new building is located behind the existing Lombardo’s restaurant and is connected by an expanded kitchen and a new courtyard, allowing the campus to function as a cohesive whole while supporting new programming and increased production. The deli and bistro are designed for quick, counter-service meals, offering seating for 35 in the main dining room, additional courtyard seating, and overflow space that can host cooking classes, chef-led dinners, and wine tastings.

The architecture builds on the character of the original restaurant while introducing a lighter, more transparent addition. Storefront glazing opens views into the active deli and social spaces, while wood veneer, metal siding, and painted brick are reused and reinterpreted to create continuity between old and new.

Applied in Fresh New Ways

This is expressed by wood soffits becoming wall cladding, metal panels increasing in scale for a smoother, more inviting texture, and punched brick openings connecting interior spaces to the courtyard.

New landscaping, site walls, fencing, and lighting complete the project, strengthening the pedestrian experience and reinforcing Lombardo’s presence along the street.
