Townstead Apartments and Campus Center Transformation

Homestead Village’s latest campus transformation brings together new residences, expanded dining, refreshed amenities, and a distinctive approach to aging in place. Building on the community’s THRIVE WHERE YOU ARE® philosophy, the project creates more opportunities for residents to remain connected, engaged, and supported as their needs and preferences evolve.

At the heart of the campus, the first phase renovation and expansion reimagined key gathering spaces with new dining experiences, a coffee shop, salon and spa, reimagined lobby, multi-purpose room, library, and refreshed corridors. Just beyond, the new 73-residence Townstead Apartments expand independent living while allowing personal care services to be provided directly in residents’ apartment homes.

Together, these improvements support a more flexible model for senior living—one designed around bringing services, amenities, and opportunities to residents rather than requiring residents to move to access them.

Reimagining

the Heart of the Community

The campus center transformation creates a more contemporary, welcoming hub for everyday life.

Updated gathering areas and expanded amenities provide a variety of settings for dining, socializing, wellness, and informal interaction, while refreshed lobbies and corridors create a more cohesive experience throughout the existing building.

The multi-purpose room can be subdivided to accommodate a range of fitness, lifelong learning, cultural and social programs.

Distinctive Venue Experiences

A nearly 3,000 SF expansion and renovation provides greater variety and flexibility for residents throughout the day.

Solis provides casual dining with chef-prepared specials, made-to-order options, a hearth oven, and an action station featuring changing daily selections. In the evening, Luna transforms the space for seated, full-service dining, providing a more gracious setting for residents looking for a traditional restaurant experience.

Located just inside the main entrance, Mack’s Coffee & Cream brings the comfortable atmosphere of a neighborhood café to the center of campus life. Coffee, breakfast items, sandwiches, pastries, and hand-dipped gelato encourage residents to stop in throughout the day.

Dual-Licensed Apartments

Supporting Aging in Place

A defining feature of the Townstead Apartments is something residents may never see in the architecture itself: every apartment is dual-licensed for personal care.

The result is an approach to aging in place that extends beyond accessibility. The Townstead Apartments combine residential choice, supportive services, and thoughtful design to help residents maintain greater continuity, independence, and connection as their needs change.
